“Great Decisions” Foreign Policy Discussion Group
11:00am-1:00pm. West Hernando Branch Library, 6335 Blackbird Avenue, Brooksville. You are invited to join the local “Great Decisions” Foreign Policy Discussion Group. First launched in 1954, the program is American’s longest-standing civic global affairs education program with more than a half a million participants in the US. Great Decisions is a program and publication of the Foreign Policy Association (FPA). The publication acts as a focus of discussion by providing participants with background information, current data, and policy options. Policy options, as voted by the group, are published in the FPA’s National Opinion Ballot Report. This month’s topic is India Changes Course. Help Restore the Springs!
5:30pm. Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, 6131 Commercial Way, Weeki Wachee. Join the effort to restore the Springs! The Weeki Wachee Springs State Park needs your assistance to help clean the springs. Volunteers are needed to remove Lyngbya from the spring and in shallow areas, with carrying bags of removed Lyngbya to flatbed trailers and removing exotic plants from the land. First-time volunteers are asked to arrive 15 minutes early; dress appropriately for entering the water. Snorkel / diving gear will be helpful.
