Six arrested in Spring Hill drug bust

SPRING HILL –
Acting on tips from suspicious neighbors’ deputies with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office arrested six people Thursday on a variety of drug charges.

Over the last several weeks the sheriff’s office received numerous complaints about a residence located at 2255 Canfield Drive, which included the home not having running water or electricity and that trash was piling up in the yard.

Through surveillance the sheriff’s office confirmed illegal drug activity was occurring at the Spring Hill home, according to the report.

Items seized at the residence included Hydromorphone tablets, a powerful opiate drug that produces extreme euphoria and blissful apathy in addition to several other types of prescription medications, a marijuana plant, .5 grams of marijuana along with needles, pipes, spoons and baggies.

The Florida Department of Children and Families was also contacted because Szabo is several months pregnant.

A pit bull-type dog was removed from the residence and turned over to Hernando County Animal Services. Hernando County Code Enforcement was also contacted to respond regarding the large amount of trash and junk in the yard, as well as the lack of electricity and running water, according to the report.
