Deputies made contact with the homeowner at the Linwood address, identified as Jessica Weber. Weber advised that a male, Brock, who has been staying with her for a few days, had just returned. Weber also advised deputies that when Brock retuned, he had “run into the house.”

Weber allowed deputies into the residence and pointed them to the bedroom where Brock was staying.

Deputies made contact with Brock Boyd. Post Miranda, Boyd admitted to his involvement in the Vehicle Burglary in question. Boyd also told deputies that he had committed multiple Burglaries over the last two weeks.

Stolen property recovered on scene directly connected Boyd to several Vehicle Burglaries and at least one Residential Burglary currently being investigated by District Two detectives.

Boyd told detectives that he is addicted to pills and his addiction is what drove him to commit the crimes. Boyd went on to tell detectives that he only targeted UNLOCKED VEHICLES, and advised that he walked all over Spring Hill to find same.

Currently, detectives have linked Boyd to 10 Vehicle Burglaries and two Residential Burglaries.

The investigation remains active.

Brock Boyd W/M DOB/06-04-1991 was placed under arrest by detectives. He remains in the Hernando County Detention Center.
