Driver suffering medical emergency dies in Pasco crash

A driver suffering a medical emergency crashed his car along U.S. Highway 19 in Pasco County and died Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

About 10 a.m., Steve Vajda, 83, was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry west on County Line Road in Spring Hill.

As he approached U.S. Highway 19, he suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the car, troopers said.

The Camry left the road and drove onto the west shoulder of U.S. 19 and became airborne. The Camry then collided with two parked vehicles at 18835 U.S. Highway 19.

Vajda died at the scene, while passenger Livia Nagy, 75, was taken to Regional Hospital Bayonet Point in Hudson in serious condition.
