Crash sends four to hospital

SPRING HILL – Two children were taken by helicopter to St. Joseph’s Hospital after a crash Saturday morning on Bentley Avenue.

Two adults involved in the wreck were taken to Regional Center Bayonet Point.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a Ford E350 delivery van driven by Richard Alan Miller was driving east on Spring Hill drive when it moved into another lane and hit an Isuzu Rodeo.

The driver of the Isuzu, Joanna Machnicki, lost control and hit a tree on the shoulder of the road.

There were three passengers in Machnicki’s SUV: Jimmy Collette, 41, of Brooklyn; a 7-year-old girl; and a 12-year-old boy.

All were believed to be in stable condition, the Highway Patrol reported.

Miller, 50, was not injured. He received a citation alleging an improper lane change.
