BROOKSVILLE FELON TURNS HIMSELF IN AFTER LENGTHY MANHUNT

Brandy Alexander Sunday has been arrested by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office 20 times, his most recent arrest being for three counts of Burglary of a Dwelling and Two Counts of Grand Theft.

On 06-17-15, Hernando County detectives received a tip that Sunday had stashed a stolen generator, valued at over $10,000, at a location off of Batten Road in Brooksville. Detectives responded to the area and were able to locate the generator. The generator was recovered and returned to the owner, who was extremely grateful to have the property back.

During the recovery of the generator, Sunday arrived driving a small Chevy Tracker. When detectives attempted to make contact with Sunday, he fled on foot, eluding capture in a heavily wooded area off Batten Road. Numerous units, including K-9 and Aviation, assisted patrol deputies and detectives in attempting to locate Sunday, meeting with negative results.

Later on 06-17-15, Sunday turned himself in at the Hernando County Detention Center. He had previously made arrangements with a bondsman to accompany him so that he could immediately post bond.

Detectives responded to the Hernando County Detention Center to Interview Sunday, however he refused to cooperate with the investigation.

As a result of Sunday fleeing from law enforcement officers earlier that were attempting to arrest him, Sunday was charged with Resisting Arrest. Being that Sunday was already out on bond for his previous charges and had committed a new criminal offense, detectives held him on a NO Bond status.

At First Appearance the next morning, the Judge concurred with the decision made by detectives and ordered that bond remain at NONE for Sunday.

Sunday remains behind bars at the Hernando County Detention Center.
