Marginal Risk for Severe Thunderstorms Tonight
Overview:
•A fast moving cold front will approach the area with thunderstorms tonight, therefore the NWS Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed the area in a Marginal Risk for Severe Thunderstorms Tonight.
•The SPC is forecasting a 2% probability of a tornado, and a 5% probability of hail 1″ or larger and damaging thunderstorm winds or wind gusts of 50 knots or higher, all within 25 miles of a point.
Timing:
•3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
: Peninsula – scattered showers.
•Midnight to 4 a.m.: North of Tampa Bay – showers and a few thunderstorms.
•2 a.m. to 8 a.m.: Around Tampa Bay – showers and a few thunderstorms.
•5am to 10am: South of Tampa Bay – showers and a few thunderstorms. Impacts:
•Gusty strong or damaging winds are possible with the thunderstorms.
•Hail possible.
•Tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
