UPDATE – DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE SHOOTING IN BROOKSVILLE
Detectives continued to work this case into the night in order to identify a suspect.
At approximately midnight, Detective Chris Kraft was notified that Hillsborough County Detectives were in Hernando County looking for the victim, Shaquaille Delaine, regarding an Armed Burglary that occurred in Hillsborough County at approximately 2 p.m. on 11-19-15.
During the commission of said crime, gunfire was exchanged and Delaine and at least one other person were shot.
Hillsborough and Hernando County Detectives located Delaine at an apartment on Darby Lane in Brooksville, where he was taken into custody without incident. While being interviewed by Hillsborough County detectives, Delaine admitted his involvement in the offense in their jurisdiction.
Delaine advised after returning from Hillsborough County he was dropped off at 297 C Street. He then made up the story about being robbed and shot as he ran away from the suspect. He admitted he lied as he was trying to “cover his tracks so he did not get in trouble.”
Shaquaille Delaine B/M DOB/08-14-1994 was placed under arrest, charged as follows:
– Hillsborough County Charges (Warrants)
– Armed Burglary Dwelling/Structure
o Bond – $150,000
– Aggravated Battery
o Bond – $50,000
– Aggravated Assault
o Bond – $50,000.
The original case of Robbery will be unfounded in Hernando County and Delaine will be charged with Filing a False Report to Law Enforcement.
