Traffic Tip Tuesday 03-0-15-2016
Sgt. Scott Reak and the Traffic Deputies would like to remind you of the following:
Most driver’s would probably agree that although lacking nowadays, courteous driving is a critical component of being a good driver.
People oftentimes cause accidents as a result of having a poor attitude behind the wheel of their vehicle.
Driving aggressive or reckless is the cause of many traffic crashes in our county.
But, not everyone that does something wrong on our roadways is intentionally striving to inconvenience you, many are careless oversights. Do you have a blind spot on your vehicle? Most vehicles do. There’s a chance that the driver that “cut you off” may not have been able to see you in their blind spot. Another vehicle trying to change lanes in heavy traffic? Slow down and allow them to safely move over. The other driver will be elated that they can safely change lanes, traffic flow will improve, and possibly even save vehicle damage.
Courteous driving is contagious as well, a kind act from you may lead to a kind act from another motorist. Your attitude is one of the few controllable variables in our driving environment, so make it count. Help us make the roads safer by being patient and courteous while you drive. Your blood pressure, your family, and the surrounding driver’s will all appreciate it.
