Last chance for fair
The 63rd annual Hernando County Fair continues through Saturday with fun for the entire family, including rides, games, food, live entertainment, contests, livestock show, demolition derby, arts and crafts and much more.
Gates open at 5 p.m. today and 1 p.m. Saturday at Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 Broad St. in Brooksville; admission is $8 for adults and $4 for ages 6 to 12. Parking is free.

Stringbreak Music Fest
Get your groove on at the Stringbreak Music Festival from noon-11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday at Sertoma Youth Ranch, 85 Myers Road in Brooksville. The multistage Americana music festival features music from many genres, including roots rock, alternative country, newgrass and bluegrass. Performers include The Original Duhks, Robin and Linda Williams, The Greencards, Chatham County Line, The David Mayfiled Parade and the Black Lillies. Camping is available on site. Blueberry bonanza
All things blueberry are coming to Brooksville for the Florida Blueberry Festival, happening all along main Street from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The festival includes live entertainment, food, arts, crafts and vendors.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 17, and free for 5 and under. Parking is $4 per car in designated parking areas, with parking proceeds benefiting local charities. For details, go to www.floridablueberryfestival.org.
Senior shenanigans
The Weeki Wachee Senior Citizen’s Club hosts an Open House from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at 3357 Susan Drive, Spring Hill.
The WWSC is home to several clubs including oil painters, watercolor artists, crafters of all types, ship modelers, wood carvers, precious stone artisans, quilters and R/C airplane enthusiasts. Tunes at Twilight
Bring your own chair and snacks, settle in and relax for the sixth annual Tunes at Twilight sunset beach concert featuring Hernando Symphony Orchestra at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hernando Beach Club, 3145 Flamingo Blvd. in Hernando Beach.

Church presents 2-day yard sale
A Yard Sale is planned from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and April 12 at the Mariner United Methodist Church, 7079 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill. Springstead High hosts Ethnic Night
Springstead High School and People to People, an international community service club, will host Ethnic Night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the high school, 3300 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill. Ethnic Night features an art display, different ethnic foods, entertainment and a sidewalk chalk art contest. Golf tourney benefits charter schools
Hernando County Charter School Education Foundation plans a Golf Tournament to benefit the foundation at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Hernando Oaks Golf Course, 5230 Delacroix Drive, Brooksville. The cost is $75 per person or $270 per foursome, which includes beverages and a catered lunch by Texas Roadhouse. Payment can be made the day of the tournament. A Hernando County event, “Open Your Heart,” aimed at recruiting foster and adoptive parents for Kids Central Inc., will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 9344 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill. Guests will have the opportunity to fill out information packets and learn about the options open to those interested in helping to care for these children. Arrive at 9:30 a.m. and enjoy a free pancake breakfast courtesy of Devereux’s Spring Hill Neighborhood Project.
