Guided Nature Hike

Chinsegut Conservation Center hosts a Guided Nature Hike from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Perry Oldenburg Wildlife and Environmental Area at the end of Deer Run Road, Brooksville. This moderate 2-mile hike winds through sand hills and oak hammocks. Learn about regional wildlife, land management, and volunteer opportunities. Hikers should wear comfortable shoes and have water, bug spray, and a snack.

Mermaid tea party

The High Tide Tea Party offers your child ages 3 to 12 a tea party with several of the Weeki Wachee Mermaids. The fantasy experience takes place from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Saturday at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, 6131 Commercial Way, Weeki Wachee. Your little mermaid will hear stories of the sea and receive a makeover with her own mermaid costume and photo opportunity. Seating is limited and children must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is $175 per child which includes park admission for two adults and one child.

Radio rendezvous

Hernando County Amateur Radio Association holds its annual 24-Hour Emergency Preparedness Exercise at 2 p.m. Sunday at Linda Pederson Park, 6300 Shoal Line Blvd., Spring Hill. The public is invited to observe and to try their hand at communicating via shortwave radio.
