Pumpkin patch
Seven Acres Farm, 5369 California St., Brooksville, opens its massive pumpkin patch today. Along with pumpkins for sale, there is a spooky trail, games for the kids, and farm-fresh eggs, honey and boiled peanuts. The natural, family owned farm specializes in strawberries, vegetables, fresh eggs, local honey and seasonal festivities. There is no charge to enter the pumpkin patch, which is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 12:30-7 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 1. Mud Endeavor
Mud Endeavor, Florida’s premier obstacle course, hosts its fifth annual race on Saturday at 29251 Wildlife Lane, Brooksville. With 100-foot elevation changes, more than 75 percent of the course is visible to spectators. The event starts with competitive runners at 9 a.m. and continues with waves of participants through 11 a.m.

National Night Out
Join Sheriff Al Nienhuis and the men and women of the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office for National Night Out, from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday on Oct. 4 in the Target parking lot, 3101 Aerial Way, Spring Hill.

2-mile Alzheimer’s walk is Saturday
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is happening Saturday at 205 E. Fort Dade Ave. in downtown Brooksville. Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m. This event is intended to raise awareness and funds to fight Alzheimer’s disease. Participants will complete a 2-mile walk and also join in a meaningful tribute ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Participate and learn about the disease, advocacy opportunities, clinical trial enrollment and support programs and services from the Alzheimer’s Association.

All Ford Powered Car & Truck Show
The fifth annual All Ford Powered Car & Truck Show hosted by Nature Coast Mustangs takes place Saturday at Nick Nicholas Ford, 2901 State Road 44 W. in Inverness. Rummage sale aids shooting victim
Spring Hill Animal Clinic presents a community Rummage Sale in honor of shooting victim Tommy Kidder from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the clinic, 1377 Anderson Snow Road, Spring Hill. Time has not healed all of Kidder’s wounds and the family is struggling with the high cost of medical bills. The community is invited to donate gently used sellable items to the Spring Hill Animal Clinic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturdays. 4-H benefit Trap Tournament set
Hernando Sportsman’s Club hosts a 4-H Benefit Trap Tournament starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the club’s trap range, 16121 Commercial Way, Brooksville. The cost is $40 per trap shooter, or $35 if pre-registered by Sept. 27. Lunch will be provided to all participants. Registration for shooters begins at 8 a.m. and the tournament consists of four rounds of 25 shots each. Trophies will be awarded for youth, adult and senior with most targets hit. Relay for Life fundraiser planned
Gamma XI Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi hosts a Relay for Life fundraiser from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Strong Tower Vineyard & Winery, 17810 Forge Drive, Spring Hill. Olive Harvest Festival set for Sunday
The Olive Grove will have its fall Olive Harvest Festival Sunday at The Grove, 15016 Rester Drive, Brooksville. This event is free and open to all ages.
The festival opens at 10 a.m. with music from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. by the Delei’ed Parrots Trop Rock Band and Amber Lynn Nicol. Bill Warton “The Sauce Boss” will be cooking up a pot of seafood gumbo (vegetarian style) and everyone gets a free bowl. Workshops will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: soap making $20, curing olives and making olive oil lamps $5. Win an olive tree for making the best lamp.
