Teen booked following video game dispute
SPRING HILL – An 18-year-old Spring Hill man was booked on two counts of simple assault Wednesday after his parents told him to turn down the volume on his video game.
Justin Murphy, of Norvell Road, became angry after his mother told him to turn off his loud Xbox, and began “jumping toward his mother in an aggressive manner, putting his fists together, threatening to harm her,” according to a sheriff’s office report.
Murphy later advanced on his father, punching his fist into his other hand.
The parents told a responding deputy they continued to back away from their son while calling law enforcement, and feared their son would harm them.
Murphy was booked at the jail on the two misdemeanor charges. He is eligible for a $1,000 bond after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
