Spring Hill Woman Arrested for Filing False Report
Spring Hill — On 09-1-15 at approximately 7 p.m., emergency dispatch received a call from Hali Reichenbaugh, W/F DOB/11-26-1990, who advised she had been pulled over, by what she believed, was an unmarked patrol car in the area of Mariner Boulevard, near County Line Road.
Reichenbaugh, of Spring Hill, told deputies that a man approached her vehicle wearing a black polo shirt, khaki pants, and had a gold star badge on his shirt.
During the encounter, Reichenbaugh said the unidentified man placed her in handcuffs and removed $200 from her jeans pocket. Reichenbaugh said he then placed her in the back of the patrol car where he groped her. She noted the unmarked patrol car had working emergency lights, a computer, and a radio; however, there was no middle divider.
Following the encounter, Reichenbaugh said the man eventually released her.
Following her statement, deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any evidence to corroborate her account of the incident.
During an interview on 09-02-15 at the Sheriff’s Office, Reichenbaugh told investigators that she fabricated the story.
Reichenbaugh said she had been in Pasco County attempting to purchase drugs. Reichenbaugh said she paid an individual $200, but did not receive any drugs in return.
When she returned home, Reichenbaugh said her boyfriend began questioning her regarding her whereabouts and the missing money.
Reichenbaugh said that is when she decided to make up the story at which time her boyfriend told her she needed to report the incident, which she did.
Reichenbaugh was arrested and charged with Filing a False Report. Her bond was set at $500.
