Spring Hill woman accused of battering grandmother
SPRING HILL –
A woman was charged Friday with felony domestic battery following accusations she grabbed her 85-year-old grandmother and threw her onto the floor.
Nichole Marie Nardone, 31, of 8157 Forest Villa Circle, was transported to the Hernando County Jail and held without bond.
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office responded to the apartment shortly after 11 p.m., according to an arrest report.
A hysterical woman had called 911 alleging someone had hit her, deputies said.
Upon arrival, the arresting deputy came upon the 85-year-old accuser, who was upset and fearful of her granddaughter, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said Nardone entered a bathroom her grandmother was occupying, grabbed her by the arms and flung her to the floor.
The suspect’s grandmother sustained an abrasion on her elbow, according to the report.
Deputies said Nardone told them she had entered the bathroom to check on her grandmother’s wellbeing and only grabbed her by the arms to keep her from “flailing about.”
The report revealed a 6-year-old girl was in the house at the time of the incident. She was questioned, but she didn’t see anything, deputies said.
Jail records revealed Nardone was arrested five weeks earlier on a drug charge.
