Sheriff’s office: Inmate crafted knife, intended to harm self
BROOKSVILLE –
Verlon Jason Turner was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a charge of introducing contraband into a detection facility.
Turner, 28, is listed as a transient, and was booked in the jail March 19 on a larceny charge, second offense. The weapon was made out of a “jumbo paper clip sharpened to a fine point,” according to an affidavit. Turner told a detention deputy he intended to use it to “harm himself.”
Turner was booked at the jail back in May 2012 on a larceny charge.
