Nugent gets House committee assignments
The House Republican conference has asked Congressman-elect Richard Nugent to serve on the Committee on Homeland Security and the Committee on Veteran Affairs.
Nugent, who will represent the District 5 U.S. House, said he looks forward to his assignments.
“Serving on these committees will give me a chance to continue fighting for a safer America and to be an advocate for those who risked everything in defense of our nation,” Nugent said in a press release. “With three sons in the military and more than thirty years in local law enforcement, I look forward to bringing real world experience to both committees.”
Nugent will step down as Hernando County sheriff at the end of the year.
