Man shot in Weeki Wachee dies
WEEKI WACHEE – A Weeki Wachee man was shot by his roommate on Thursday night, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
George Avedissian, 69, later died from his injuries at Oak Hill Hospital.
The identity of the shooter was not released by the sheriff’s office Friday, and no arrests have been made.
Avedissian used to own a jewelry store — Mihran Jewelers — located at 9617 Commercial Way.

Crime scene investigators were on scene Friday morning collecting evidence.
A 911 call log shows that on April 11, Avedissian called law enforcement about a $3,000 forged check, and in January, an unknown caller reported an intoxicated individual at the house, who was threatening suicide.
Also in January, Avedissian called 911 to report his shed had been vandalized.
In 2008, the Avedissians called 911 to report neighborhood dogs on the loose, as well as a possible burglary.
