Man booked on drug charges
SPRING HILL –
Stealing a cellphone from Walmart was the least of Kevin Hughes Fitzpatrick’s problems on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old admitted to taking the phone out of the store at 1485 Commercial Way without paying for it, according to a Hernando County Sheriff’s Office affidavit.
While being booked at the jail, a deputy found oxycodone, diazepam and methamphetamine in small plastic bags on Fitzpatrick.
The man was booked on $500 bond for the retail theft charge and on $16,500 bond for charges of methamphetamine possession, two counts of possessing a controlled substance and possession of drug equipment.
Fitzpatrick was also charged with failure to appear for a possession of paraphernalia case, and his bond for that offense was set at $5,000.
Court records show Fitzpatrick has been adjudicated guilty of multiple felony charges in the past, including assault, fraud, driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
