Man arrested for breaking into car

BROOKSVILLE –
Jonas Anthony Brooks Jr. was arrested Saturday for burglary of a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Sheriff’s deputies said Brooks, 19, entered an unlocked, red 1998 Pontiac Trans Am parked behind a residence at 7472 Mead Drive in Spring Hill.

Once inside, deputies said Brooks rummaged through the center console and stole a prescription bottle containing six 30mg of morphine pills, a brown wallet, cigarettes and miscellaneous documents.

Brooks was taken to the Hernando County Jail and held on $7,000 bond.
