Man accused of pushing girlfriend, toddler out of moving car

SPRING HILL –
A man was charged with child abuse, domestic battery and false imprisonment after he pushed his girlfriend out of a moving car while she held her 2-year-old son, deputies said.

Gregory Kirshy, 23, of 10301 Fox Sparrow Ave., remained at large for six days after the offense and was found Wednesday morning asleep in his car, which was parked outside of his house, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

He was transported to the Hernando County Jail and held with no bond.

A witness said he saw Kirshy push his girlfriend out of the car Thursday afternoon as it passed by his house along Royal Oak Drive, according to a sheriff’s report.

The victim said she was involved in an argument with Kirshy and told him to stop the car. He continued to drive and she grabbed her son from the backseat, deputies said.

While she was holding her son, Kirshy punched her in the face and grabbed her hair, according to an incident report.

The victim screamed for Kirshy to stop the car. He refused and drove recklessly at speeds of up to 25 mph, deputies said.

Eventually, he pushed her out of the moving car and she suffered abrasions to her left arm. The boy was not injured, according to the sheriff’s office.
