Man, 23, critical after I-75 crash in Hernando
A 23-year-old Ocala man was hospitalized Tuesday after crashing his SUV into another vehicle on Interstate 75, troopers said.
Brandon Taylor Ball was driving south on the interstate near the 303 mile marker when he lost control of his 2008 Hyundai SUV, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Ball struck a 2006 Acura SUV driven by Sandra Werner, 55, of Indian Rocks Beach, troopers said.
Both vehicles traveled onto the outside shoulder and overturned, troopers said.
Ball was taken by helicopter to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point with critical injuries, troopers said. Werner as taken to Bayfront Brooksville Hospital with minor injuries, trooper said.
The crash closed the southbound lanes of the interstate for about an hour.
