To access the free content, library users must have a library card and a four-digit PIN. They can download an app for the Freegal service through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Users can watch the videos on computers, laptops and mobile devices.

The library system had been offering free music downloads through Freegal.

Patrons can check out up to three movies or television shows per week and will have 48 hours to access the videos. They can stream the videos as many times as they want during that 48 hours. However, once the time expires, the same content cannot be streamed for 6 months.

Library cards and personal identification numbers can be obtained at one of Hernando’s five public libraries.

To start streaming video, go to https://hcpl.freegalmovies.com or access the service from the Library’s website http://www.hernandocountylibrary.us.
