Hernando High announces HOF class

Hernando High this week released the eight-member 2014 class for the school’s Sports Hall of Fame.

The new inductees are: Katye Altieri, Fred Blackburn, John Capel, Walt Cermak, Ed Chester, Addison Chipoletti, Dan Merritt Jr. and Hercules Moore.

A banquet to honor the inductees will take place Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. in the school’s gym. Tickets for the banquet are $25 and may be purchased at the school. The inductees will also be honored during halftime of the Oct. 10 home football game against South Sumter.
