Four juveniles charged with burglarizing three schools
BROOKSVILLE – Four juveniles aged 10-14 were charged with multiple counts of commercial burglary after a concerned parent contacted deputies about items in his son’s room he suspected to be stolen.
Deputies responded to the home on Star Road and found an X-Box 360 video gaming system, video games, an I-pod, a laptop computer, a watch, coins, and miscellaneous school and food items, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Further investigation revealed the juveniles burglarized all of the schools along Ken Austin Parkway – Pine Grove Elementary School, West Hernando Middle School, and Central High School – between June 22-23.
The juveniles mainly entered through unlocked doors, according to the sheriff’s office.
Other than food items it appears all burglarized have been recovered, the sheriff’s office said, and three of the juveniles were charged with four counts of commercial burglary, and the youngest, 10, was charged with two counts of commercial burglary.
