Four arrested in gang-related drug bust in Spring Hill

SPRING HILL – Three Spring Hill residents and a New Port Richey woman were arrested on drug and weapon charges Friday after a search warrant was executed at 12544 Gulliver Road.

Among the charged is Michael Meredith Jr., 22, a known member of the Southside Crips gang, according to the sheriff’s office. His registered address is where the search arrant was served.

Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of patrol deputies and K9, recovered 5.4 grams of crack cocaine, 4.4 grams of marijuana, baggies, scales, and pipes, six Alprazolam tablets, $788, and a 9mm Taurus semi-automatic handgun with 12 rounds that was reported as “lost” in a federal database.

Law enforcement also seized a stolen Playstation 3 game and an X-Box also believed to be stolen.

Meredith was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of Alprazolam, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Meredith is being held on $26,000 bond, and jail records show he has been arrested several times in Hernando County in the past.

Also arrested was Devyn Reynolds, 23, of Holiday Drive, on charges of possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held on $11,000 bond.

Lashawnna Sellers, 22, of Ambassador Avenue, and Genia Marchant, 24, of New Port Richey, were also arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Each are being held at the Hernando County Jail on $1,000 bond.

Detectives are continuing investigations into the firearm and stolen items.
