Detectives Investigating Local Flooring Company
Detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit are currently conducting an investigation into reported activities being conducted by a local flooring company.
Over the course of the past year, representative(s) from a flooring company have engaged in several contracts to install flooring, along with other contractor services, and on numerous occasions, the jobs have reportedly been abandoned (without the work being completed).
In furtherance of the reported scheme, the victim(s) is issued a “refund” check from the flooring company. Consistently, when the victim(s) attempted to deposit or cash the “refund” check, the check was returned as “insufficient funds.”
