DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE SHOOTING IN BROOKSVILLE
On 11-19-15 at approximately 4 p.m., the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a local hospital regarding a patient that had just arrived in the Emergency Department with a gunshot wound. Deputies were promptly dispatched to the hospital.
Investigation revealed that a short time prior to arriving at the hospital, the male victim was approached by an unknown black male (near a residence on C Street in Brooksville) who attempted to rob him.
The black male produced a firearm during the robbery attempt. The victim began running away and was shot in the leg. The victim left the scene and responded to the hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect quickly fled the scene in a vehicle. Detectives are attempting to obtain the identity of the suspect at this time.
The case is active. No additional information is available for release at this time.
