Deputies: Man faces meth, suspended license charges
BROOKSVILLE -A 27-year-old Spring Hill man was arrested Monday night on two warrant charges of driving with a suspended license faces additional charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of a small amount of methamphetamine, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
According to an arrest report, Deputy Dane Jenkins and Lauren Johnson saw Ismail Tillman driving near Greenbriar Apartments in Brooksville and pulled him over because they knew he had active warrants for his arrest.
A search of Tillman found $1,200 in his pants pocket, as well as a bag of methamphetamine weighing 0.01 grams, deputies said.
Tillman has been classified as a habitual traffic offender and has been convicted of driving with a suspended license five times since 2006.
After being placed under arrest Tillman said he didn’t know anything about the drugs, but was planning to get his license back and pay $3,500 in traffic citations and $7,000 in court costs, deputies said.
Tillman was booked at the Hernando County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine and felony driving with a suspended license. He is being held on $25,000 bond.
Court records also show Tillman has been convicted of numerous felony drug charges.
