Crash stalls Sunshine Grove Road traffic
BROOKSVILLE – A rush-hour collision led to a Ford SUV turning on its side on Sunshine Grove Road and Chambord Street in Brooksville.
Christen Mylrea witnessed the crash, which happened shortly before 5 p.m., and then pulled over to find out what happened and make sure the passengers were okay.
The Brooksville resident said she saw the navy-colored Ford SUV stopped at the stop sign on Chambord Street and Sunshine Grove Road, and that a driver at the stop sign across Chambord waved the driver on.
The driver of the Ford SUV pulled into the intersection, and collided with a red Chevrolet car driving through the intersection.
The Ford flipped on one side after hitting the passenger side of the Chevrolet. Responding firefighters had to cut off the roof of the SUV to remove three passengers. All were strapped to body boards and taken to a local hospital by ambulance. The motorist from the red Chevrolet was also removed from the scene on a stretcher and taken to the hospital.
