BROOKSVILLE – Kyle Chunn, 23, rejected a plea offer from the state that would send him to prison for 20 years.
Chunn, of Inverness, is accused of firing multiple rounds at two men he was arguing with outside of the Brookhaven Apartments in Brooksville last May.

Chunn, along with Lacie Swan, 19, fled in a stolen Nissan Altima, according to Brooksville Police, and were stopped by a Hernando sheriff’s deputy a short while later.
Swan was booked on two charges of attempted first-degree murder, and Chunn fled from law enforcement. He was found nine days later, hiding out in a Belleview apartment.
He has been charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, grand theft, criminal mischief, driving with a suspended or revoked license and resisting an officer with violence.
Assistant State Attorney Rob Lewis said the Hernando charges violated his probation for a firearm offense in Citrus County, and Chunn was recently sentenced to life plus 15 years by Judge Richard Howard.
Chunn is on the trial docket next week for the fleeing to elude law enforcement charge.

Jesse Adey, 32, was sentenced to 36 months in prison Tuesday for failing to register as a sex offender in Hernando County.
Assistant State Attorney Erin Daly said Adey did not register with the sheriff’s office within 48 hours of moving to the county, as required by law. Daly said Adey was convicted of a sex offense in Michigan in 1999.
Hernando Today previously reported Adey was arrested after sheriff’s Detective Tom Breedlove gave a description of the wanted man on WWJB in August.
A resident heard the interview, and called the sheriff’s office to report he spotted a man matching Adey’s description at the Hardee’s near Cortez Boulevard and Jefferson Street.
Adey told Breedlove he had recently left Istachatta on foot and had been thinking about turning himself in.
He has been held in lieu of $25,000 bail, and has 247 days time served, according to booking records.
