HCSO Deputies Make Numerous Arrests, Recover Missing Adult
Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a variety of calls for service Monday evening into Tuesday morning that resulted in numerous arrests and the recovery of a missing person.
•During a traffic stop Monday, Deputy Arthur Bachman seized .31 grams of cocaine and a Hydrocodone pill from Justin Brown, B/M DOB 2/19/1987. Brown was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Knowingly Driving on a Suspended License and Driving an Unregistered Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $5,000.
•In a separate incident, Deputy Nathan Kent received a call about a man who had driven off in an intoxicated state with a 10-year-old child in the vehicle. Deputy Kent was able to locate the suspect and conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by Timothy Danko, W/M DOB 12/129/1975. Danko was arrested on a charge of Driving Under the Influence. His bond was set at $500.
•In another incident, Deputy Richard Killingsworth stopped a white truck for an expired tag as the driver was leaving the Motel 6, 6172 Commercial Way. The tag expired in 2003. The deputy noted the driver, Bruce Inman Jr., B/M DOB 11/22/77, exhibited behavior consistent with methamphetamine impairment. Two pipes were seized from Inman that tested positive for methamphetamine. Inman was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Knowingly Driving on a Suspended License and Driving an Unregistered Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $2,000.
•At 2 a.m. on Tuesday, a K-9 unit was dispatched to help search for a missing 81-year-old man. According to his wife, she woke up at 1 a.m. and noticed that her husband had left the residence. She told deputies that he does not drive and was believed to have been drinking. Deputy Jason Jernigan and K-9 Dzel were able to quickly locate the missing man lying on the ground in the wood line near the residence. EMS responded to assess for injuries. The man was intoxicated, but was otherwise OK.

The Office of the Sheriff is established by the Florida Constitution. As a constitutional officer, the Sheriff has the exclusive authority to administer his or her agency and is responsible for preserving the peace throughout the entire county, carrying out the laws of the state, the orders of Florida courts, and the ordinances of the Board of County Commissioners. The Sheriff is the chief law enforcement and correctional officer of the county.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis was initially appointed as the Sheriff of Hernando County by the Governor in January of 2011. He was then elected by the people of Hernando County in 2012, and remains accountable to them.
