Man Runs from Traffic Stop – Commits Burglary
On 02-02-16 at approximately 3:18 p.m., Deputy Blake Vanderford attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the driver of a red Kia Sephia in the area of Waterfall Drive and Gibralter Street in Spring Hill.
Instead of stopping the Kia when Deputy Vanderford activated his emergency lights and siren, the driver got out and fled on foot, leaving the vehicle in drive. Vanderford immediately gave verbal commands for the driver to “stop, Sheriff’s Office,” however, he continued to flee in a southerly direction. Vanderford pursued after him.
When Vanderford lost sight of the suspect, a perimeter was established and a K-9 team was requested.
Deputy Brandon Cox and K-9 Judge arrived on scene and began tracking. The K-9 team tracked the suspect, later identified as Joseph Kincade, to the rear of 8447 Aralia Street in Spring Hill. At this location, deputies observed the porch door slightly ajar. A check of the rear screened porch revealed Kincade hiding in the northwest corner. Kincade complied with commands to surrender to deputies and was taken into custody at that time.
Deputies made contact with the homeowner of the residence, Mr. Paul David. Mr. David, who was at home with his family at the time, advised that Kincade has no rights to the property and was not permitted to be there.
Post Miranda, Kincade advised Vanderford that he fled from the Traffic Stop because he knew that his driver’s license was suspended. Kincade also stated that he entered the screened porch of the Davis’ property in an attempt to flee and hide from law enforcement.
Joseph Terry Kincade B/M DOB/05-14-1991 was placed under arrest, charged as follows:
• Burglary – Occupied Dwelling
• Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer Without Violence
• Driving While License Suspended or Revoked
• Bond – $16,000.
