Fruitful weekend at Florida Blueberry Festival

The Florida Blueberry Festival took place in historic downtown Brooksville on Saturday and Sunday with entertainment, arts and crafts, food concessions and lots of fresh blueberries.

Blueberries from Hernando and Alachua counties were on sale for $3 a half pint and $33 a flat. Blueberry treats, such as pie, shortcake and honey, were also available.

Sunday’s events included a monster mud truck show, an exhibition by a stilt walker and a drawing at 4 p.m. for a three-year lease of a Kia Soul.
