Vice and Narcotics Detectives Bust Career Criminal
On Monday detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff’s OfficeVice and Narcotics Unit observed Simpson driving a vehicle in the area of Cooper Terrace and Mondon Hill Road in Brooksville. Detectives attempted to make contact with Simpson, as they had previous knowledge that his driver’s license had been revoked since 2005. Simpson got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Detectives were able to apprehend Simpson very quickly.

A K-9 team was called to the scene to complete a thorough search. While searching the vehicle that Simpson had been driving, K-9 Judge alerted to the presence of narcotics. The vehicle was secured and brought back to the Sheriff’s Office.
Joseph Henry Simpson, Jr. was charged as follows: Felony DWLSR (Habitual Offender) Bond – $3,000
– Parole Violation Bond– None.
Detectives obtained, and then executed, a search warrant on the vehicle. Pursuant to the search warrant, detectives located 50.6 grams of methamphetamine and 27 hydrocodone pills inside the vehicle. Today Joseph Henry Simpson, Jr. was charged as follows:- Possession of Hydrocodone, Trafficking in Methamphetamine Bond – $71,000.
Simpson remains in the Hernando County Detention Center.
