Family finds body of missing Hernando woman

The body of a missing Hernando County woman was found Sunday afternoon by her family near a youth park, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

Tonya McCoy Hudson, 40, was found about 1:30 p.m. near Ernie Weaver Park on Youth Drive in Brooksville, deputies said.

Hudson had died before family members found her, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities do not believe she was the victim of foul play. Her body has been sent to the medical examiner to determine her cause of death.

Hudson was last seen Thursday about 3 p.m. just before leaving her home on Ponce De Leon Boulevard to go for a walk.
