FISHING
Lake Panasoffkee was one of the most popular bass lakes in the nation during the 40’s and 50’s before it became a lake in need of a restoration to clean up undesirable vegetation, etc.
Tracy’s Point Fish Camp is a breathtaking view of Lake Panasoffkee in Sumter County.
After years of meetings and legislative approvals by the State of Florida along with other entities such as the Army Corp of Engineers, the Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission and the South West Florida Water Management District the 5,500-acre Spring Fed Lake was completely restored with a cost of approximately $30 million dollars.
Today it is one of the most beautiful and productive lakes to fish in the Sunshine State. The lake is bordered on the east side by the Lake Panasoffkee Wildlife Management Area that is loaded with whitetail deer, wild hogs, ospreys, and bald eagles.
Tracy’s Point Fishing Lodge, 950 C.R. 437, serves as the epicenter of fishing at Lake Panasoffkee. Tracy’s Point has eight rustic bug free and clean cabins that provide a beautiful view of the lake – all of our cabins are fully furnished with full size refrigerators, coffee makers, microwave ovens as well as full size ranges. In addition, they are air conditioned and have cable television along with wireless internet.
