17,000 vote-by-mail ballots sent out in Hernando
BROOKSVILLE — Hernando County residents should start getting their vote-by-mail ballots in the mail this week.
Elections Supervisor Shirley Anderson said more than 17,000 ballots would be dropped at the Tampa Post Office for delivery and daily drops will continue through Aug. 22.
Anderson is reminding people to sign the voters’ certificate on the outside envelope and that their signature matches the one on file at her office.
Signatures may change due to aging or a medical condition, she said. Voters can update their signature up until the first day of canvassing of the ballots, which is Aug. 20.
Voter registration applications are available at the elections office, public libraries, county offices, city halls or state agencies that provide public assistance.
Applications are also available on the Supervisor of Elections website at www.hernandovotes.com.
They should be mailed to the SOE office at 20 N. Main St, room 165, Brooksville, FL. 34601.
