Spring Hill pedestrian killed by car while walking dog

SPRING HILL – A 70-year-old Spring Hill man was hit and killed Tuesday evening walking his dog along Sealawn Drive in Spring Hill.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol Report, William Luchsinger was walking in the road on Sealawn Drive, west of Ballard Street, around 6:19 p.m.

An Oldsmobile station wagon driven by Darren Deleonardis hit Luchsinger, who died at the scene, troopers said.

Luchsinger’s dog was also killed, troopers said.

Neither Deleonardis nor his 5-year-old passenger were injured.

The FHP does not believe the crash is alcohol-related, according to a report.
