Spring Hill fishing expo angling for large crowd

Whether a novice or an experienced angler, if you enjoy the sport of fishing in any capacity, you might want to clear some time on your weekend calendar. The Online Fishermen will be hosting a two-day Fishing Expo, sponsored by Walmart and Cone Distributing, Saturday and Sunday at the Walmart store located at 1485 Commercial Way, Spring Hill.

The weekend will host several hourlong, free clinics, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and running throughout the two days. Topics discussed will be geared for all ages and skill levels.

“We will be offering instruction on how, where and when to catch fish in our Gulf Coast waters, with a specific focus on Pinellas and Pasco counties,” according to the Online Fishermen.

The lineup will include expert instruction from local talents like Capt. David Rieumont, Gary Poyssick, Capt. Mike Cole and Capt. Frank Bourgeois.

The weekend schedule is as follows:

Saturday

10 a.m. – Choosing the Right Cast Net- (Capt. Rieumont)

11 a.m. – Bass Fishing 101 (Capt. Bourgeois)

Noon – Basic Flats Fishing: Lure (Poyssick)

1 p.m. – Catching Bait (Capt. Rieumont)

2 p.m. – How to Catch Grouper (Capt. Bourgeois)

Sunday

10 a.m. – Inshore Flats Fishing (Capt. Rieumont)

11 a.m. – Sight Fishing for Redfish (Capt. Cole)

Noon – Fishing Where The Fish Are (Poyssick)

1 p.m. – Picking the Right Tackle (Capt. Rieumont)

2 p.m. – Mackeral Fishing (Capt. Cole)

“Don’t miss the opportunity to get down and personal with some of the Tampa Bay’s most interesting, fun and extremely knowledgeable presenters and guides. Our teams will deliver the goods with instruction, tips, tricks, fishy-spot locations and more,” as noted on the Online FIsherman website.

The event will be held at the Garden Center in the Walmart on Commercial Way. It is a free event, open to the public, with refreshments and giveaways.

The Online Fisherman is an online organization geared toward anglers of all ages and skill-levels.

“Getting involved in the community, teaching anglers, providing tips and tricks to anglers is our favorite thing to do,” the website reads.
