Sheriff Announces Grand Opening of Kass Circle Substation

Sheriff Al Nienhuis is pleased to announce the establishment of a substation, located in The Market Place Plaza, 1221 Kass Circle in Spring Hill. The substation will be situated in a store-front in the same plaza with Papa Clyde’s Ice Cream.

The grand opening will take place on July 17 at 11 a.m. Sheriff Nienhuis and some of his staff will be on site to “officially” open the office for the first time and to greet citizens.

The office space for the new substation was donated by the plaza owner, Mr. Steve Ericksson. Mr. Ericksson approached Sheriff Nienhuis with the offer of free space for the substation after hearing from his tenants of some issues in the immediate area. Sheriff Nienhuis accepted the offer.

Captain James Powers and Lieutenant Jeff Kraft of the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office have been working together with Mr. Ericksson to prepare the office for operation.

Due to budgetary constraints, the substation will not be a full-service office; it will be manned by volunteers.
