Deputies: Couple in fatal Brooksville shooting have history of domestic violence

Hernando County deputies say there was a lengthy history of unreported domestic violence between a Brooksville man who was fatally shot Thursday and his wife, who is being questioned in his death.

According to a report, there was a domestic disturbance on Christmas Day involving Shawn Moore, 34, and Jeanne Moore, 49, at their home at 9478 Weatherly Road, and the husband left the home. About 6 p.m. the next day, he returned to the residence and another domestic disturbance took place, during which Shawn Moore was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

Deputies said information is being sent to the state attorney’s office for review, and no other information is available.

The investigation is continuing.
