Woman involved in shooting dies

BROOKSVILLE – The wife of a man shot to death last month after the couple had a domestic dispute has died.

Jeanne Moore, 49, whom Hernando County deputies have questioned in relation to the shooting, died after what authorities believe was a heart attack at her home Friday afternoon, said Peyton Hyslop, Moore’s attorney.

Hernando sheriff’s detectives have been investigating the shooting death of Moore’s husband, Shawn Moore, on Dec. 26.

Shawn Moore, 44, was killed after a domestic dispute at their 9478 Weatherly Road home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hyslop said Jeanne Moore, who worked for the City of Brooksville in the past, had not been charged with a crime.

“She was always a hard worker, willing to tackle whatever was put to her,” said Hyslop, who has known Moore for about 20 years. “She was very bright, friendly, just a fun person to be around.”

Hyslop said the Moores have two children, ages 11 and 13.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Denise Moloney said Saturday the shooting investigation will continue.
