Two new taxes to fund the Sheriff’s Office

Hernando County Administrator and/or Commissioner(s) propose TWO new taxes to fund the Sheriff’s Office.

 Two new taxes

Sheriff fears both will
• INCREASE TAXES (fees and costs) for citizens and/or
• REDUCE LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES and/or
• DOUBLE the Commissioner’s CURRENT SPENDING LIMIT
• and/or create an UNFAIR TAXING STRUCTURE for most residents and businesses.

Commission vote is likely TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2015
at 9:30 a.m.

SHERIFF WILL PRESENT AN ALTERNATIVE PLAN that WILL NOT ADD fees or costs and WILL NOT require hiring experts or consultants to implement.

Please show up at the meeting and/or email the Commissioners listed below.
Tell them you are against the two new taxes proposal.

Tell them to accept the Sheriff’s proposal, which will save Hernando County taxpayers money over their plan.
