Yard sale benefit

If you like to hit tag sales, then don’t miss the Tri-County Community Association’s Yard & Garage Sale taking place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at The Old Firehouse, 28444 Forbes St. in Nobleton. Crafters and vendors also will be on hand with their wares. All proceeds will benefit the operation of the new community center.

Pancake pandemonium

The Ladies Auxiliary of High Point hosts a Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at 12249 Club House Road in Brooksville to support the Volunteer Fire Department. The cost is $4 per person for all the pancakes you can eat. Also included are sausages, orange juice, coffee and tea. Tickets are available at the office or at the door. Blues bonanza

The Lake House Bluesfest, an inaugural event featuring six local blues acts, a muscle car show, unique vendors and a kid’s zone, takes place from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday at The Lake House’s Palmwood Pavilion, 1202 Kenlake Ave. in Spring Hill. General admission is $10, and VIP is $25. Proceeds benefit two of Hernando County’s food banks, right at the time of year when they’re most depleted. Attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food donations. Buy your tickets at www.lakehousebluesfest.com.

An after-party follows the Bluesfest at Rookies on U.S. 19, where Wendy and the Soulshakers will lead an open jam from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. All musicians are welcome.

Collecting coins

The West Hernando Coin Club will hold a coin show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Brooksville Elks Lodge, 14494 Cortez Blvd. Gold, silver, foreign and domestic coins will be on display along with stamps and other collectables. More than 25 dealers at 40 tables will be on hand to appraise, buy or sell coins. Admission is free and food and drinks will be available for purchase.
