Spring Hill Drive accident claims life

SPRING HILL — A 56-year-old woman died Thursday in an early-morning crash off Spring Hill Drive.

A motorist was traveling west on Spring Hill Drive, just east of Antilles Lane, when he crossed into the eastbound lane and struck the front of a vehicle driven by Genevieve Piacentile, of Spring Hill, Florida Highway Patrol officials reported.

Piacentile, 56, was taken to Bayfront Spring Hill Hospital and later died of injuries from the accident, troopers said.

No reason was given in a Florida Highway Patrol report as to why motorist Demetrius Brinson, 20, who lives in Brooksville, crossed into the on-coming lane of traffic. Brinson also was taken to Bayfront Spring Hill, where he was treated for minor injuries, troopers reported.
