Hudson woman killed in U.S. 19 crash

A four vehicle crash on U.S. 19 Monday afternoon has left a Hudson woman dead.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Candice Hood, 38, of Spring Hill was driving north on U.S. 19 near River Country Drive when she traveled across the median and into the southbound lane. Hood’s Pontiac Montana hit a Nissan Altima being driven by Barbara Clark, 58, of Hudson.

Hood was thrown from her minivan, and remains in serious condition. Clark died from her injuries at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point.

Hood’s passenger, Tawny Hood, 20, was treated for minor injuries at the same hospital.

Two other vehicles collided with the accident vehicles. Drivers and passengers received minor or no injuries.
