Hernando County Auxiliary Deputy Running in Army Ten Miler

Hernando County Auxiliary Deputy Scott Russell has been invited to run in the second largest 10-mile race in the world, the Army Ten Miler. The race is being run on Sunday, October 11, 2015 in Washington, D.C.

Deputy Russell will be running the race with his niece, Sergeant Amber Russell, along with 35,000 other active duty military and wounded warriors from all across the country.

The race starts at the Pentagon, winds through the National Mall and ends back at the Pentagon.

Deputy Russell has been invited to run with the War College out of Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. He will be representing the Military Police and the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Russell will have a Hernando County Sheriff’s Office patch on his official running shirt along with a Military Police patch and the Army Ten Miler patch.

Deputy Russell and his niece are both running this race to honor our military troops and law enforcement officers. They both wish to express their thanks to these brave men and women for the job that they do.
